Work Approach & Skills

Work approach

Design Engineer & Service Designer

I work at the intersection of service design and frontend engineering, bringing together the human side of design with the technical craft to actually build it.

On the technical side, accessibility, semantic HTML, and CSS are second nature to me, and I bring a deep understanding of design systems, from traditional component libraries to AI-assisted ones. I know what Figma can do, where newer AI tools genuinely help, and how to make sure the end product is energy-efficient and uses AI responsibly.

On the human side, I want to know why people actually use what we build, not just how. I'm the one getting the right people in a room (or a Miro board) and making sure the session actually goes somewhere. And I keep it tied back to real business goals: customer-centric OKRs, not vanity metrics.

I'm not a solo player. I work best as part of a team with shared goals, and I can zoom out to strategy and zoom back in to write the CSS myself.

T-shape of skills

Research

  • User research

Understand needs, behaviors, and pain points through interviews and observation.

  • Interviews

In-depth conversations to validate assumptions and gather rich context.

  • Usability testing

Validate usability and identify friction points in prototypes and live systems.

Visual Design

  • Sketching

Quick sketches to explore ideas, flows, and layouts before digital tools.

  • UI design

Hi-fi / low fidelity: Design systems, components, and interaction patterns across fidelity levels.

  • Design tools

Mostly Figma: Figma-first workflow with plugins, variables, and design system support.

Design

  • Human-centered design

People-centered methods to define problems, opportunities, and solutions.

  • Service design

Map end-to-end experiences across touchpoints, journeys, and ecosystems.

  • Co-design & co-creation

Collaborative workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders and teams.

  • Facilitation

On-site & remote: Facilitate workshops, sessions, and decision-making.

  • Design systems

Govern components, tokens, and documentation for consistent UI.

  • Prototyping

Design & code: Build interactive prototypes using design tools and front-end code.

  • Interaction design

Craft behavior, feedback, and motion that feels intentional and clear.

  • Accessibility

Design accessible interfaces that work for everyone, everywhere.

  • Business Design

Align design decisions with business goals, value, and strategic outcomes.

  • Business Model Modelling

Model revenue, cost, and value streams to inform product strategy.

  • Value Proposition Design

Define the promise, jobs, and gains that matter most to customers.

Design Engineering

  • HTML

Structure content, semantics, and accessibility in HTML.

  • CSS

Layout, typography, and visual systems with CSS.

  • IDE Tools

Visual Studio Code: Work efficiently with a modern development environment.

  • Component libraries

Build and manage reusable UI components and libraries.

  • Frameworks

Astro, React: Build fast, scalable front-end experiences.
